COVENTRY: Summit County sheriff’s deputies investigated the theft of a vehicle that was last seen in a Ley Drive auto auction lot Jan. 12.

A Lenty Road woman reported Jan. 21 an unknown suspect used her identity to accrue an undetermined amount of debt in her name.

The owner of a Manchester Road business reported Jan. 22 that suspects removed several sections of vinyl siding from the building.

A woman reported finding a 4-year-old child wandering alone on Daisy Avenue Jan. 23. Deputies located the child’s mother, who admitted leaving the child with a sibling who was too young to care for her. It was determined the child had been alone for an hour. Deputies arrested her mother for child endangering, released her with a court summons and notified Summit County Children Services.

Deputies patrolling Manchester Road Jan. 23 stopped a driver for lane violations and arrested her for DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released with a court summons and the vehicle was towed.

Suspects threw a rock through the window of a Dollar Drive residence Jan. 25, causing $250 worth of damage.

A Jarvis Road man reported he attempted to leave his residence Jan. 26, and his live-in girlfriend struck him in the face. Deputies arrested her for domestic violence and took her to Summit County Jail. due to previous convictions, the charge is a felony. The victim signed a motion for a temporary protection order.

A man reported his wallet was stolen while he was at a South Main Street bar Jan. 26 and the suspect used his credit cards at various area locations.

Deputies investigated the burglary of a South Bender Avenue residence Jan. 26, when suspects broke a side door window to gain entry and steal cordless drills, saws, a flat-screen TV, numerous DVDs and other items.

An Iris Avenue woman reported Jan. 27 she received numerous sexually explicit phone calls from an Akron man. Deputies contacted the suspect, who admitted making the calls, and charged him with phone harassment.

GREEN: On Jan. 18, deputies were seeking suspects who broke into a landscaping business on Moore Road Jan. 18 and stole a 1997 Chevy Silverado pickup truck with a snow plow and salt spreader. Numerous other items, including battery chargers, lawn trimmers, snow blowers, air compressors, saws and drills, also were stolen.

A driver stopped for a vehicle equipment violation on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road Jan. 19 was arrested for driving under suspension and released to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department on a warrant.

Suspects stole a cell phone, iPod, money, tools and other items from an unlocked vehicle outside a Magua Drive residence Jan. 22.

Deputies patrolling Raber Road Jan. 23 stopped a driver for speeding. She failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI and additionally charged with resisting arrest for reportedly struggling and kicking while she was being placed in a cruiser.

A Massillon Road couple called deputies to their residence Jan. 23, reporting a neighbor physically assaulted the male during an argument over money. Deputies arrested the suspect for assault and two counts of child endangering after determining he left two children alone while the altercation occurred.

A Barberton man was arrested for phone harassment Jan. 23 after a Sand Drive man reported the suspect made numerous calls and left threatening voice messages.

A Tabs Drive man reported Jan. 23 unknown suspects placed a device on the gas lines located on his property to steal an undetermined amount of natural gas.

On Jan. 25 at 4:45 p.m., a Hunter Hills Drive man was arrested for felonious assault after he allegedly repeatedly rammed his vehicle into the one his 14-year-old son arrived home in and repeatedly punched his son and the 17-year-old driver of the car. The father was allegedly angry that his son had arrived home late. both boys were transported to Akron Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Suspects stole four iPods from students’ backpacks Jan. 25 while the students were in a weight training room at Green High School. The total value of the stolen items is $600.

On Jan. 27, a student at Green High School reported suspects stole an iPod and $50 from an unsecured locker.

Deputies investigated the burglary of a Nine-Iron Drive apartment Jan. 27, when suspects entered through a window and stole a 52-inch TV and a laptop computer.

A teacher at a Greensburg Road elementary school reported Jan. 27 the mother of a student, whom she disciplined in class, threatened to “make her life a living hell.” Deputies contacted the suspect, who denied making the threat, and advised her to contact the principal rather than the victim if she is concerned about her child.

A Delta 77 Drive woman reported Jan. 28 that suspects stole her wallet, containing $800 and a food stamp card, from her residence.

LAKEMORE: a Second Street woman reported Jan. 27 that her 14-year-old daughter refuses to obey house rules. Police charged the girl with unruliness. Later that day, the woman reported her daughter left the house without permission and refuses to return home. On Jan. 28, she reported someone had entered her home, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Three females from Munroe Falls Road, Junior Avenue and McChesney Road were charged with illegal possession of prescription medicine Jan. 28 at a Sanitarium Road high school. The McChesney Road female was transported to the hospital for a possible overdose.

On Jan. 31, a Springfield Lake Road home was broken into and an oxygen hose was cut.

NEW FRANKLIN: a Stow woman was arrested on South Main Street Jan. 24 for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia and drugs, and an insurance violation. During a traffic stop, the woman allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol earlier, and during the vehicle inventory, police found a bag of marijuana, metal pipe and tin with white residue.

A Northcrest Drive man reported Jan. 25 a $20,000 coin from India was stolen from his residence.

Police are investigating an incident in which a West Turkeyfoot Lake Road residence had four garage windows broken with a pellet gun Jan. 26.

A Manchester Road woman reported Jan. 29 that music CDs, gloves and a CD case were stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway. Police found 11 CDs on Manchester Road, and her CD case was found on Manchester Road the next day.

After responding to a call about loud music Jan. 29, police found that a man at a South Main Street residence had a felony warrant for domestic violence out of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

An East Minor Road man was arrested for a traffic violation on Manchester Road Jan. 30.

SPRINGFIELD: a Highland Creek Avenue man reported Jan. 21 he followed an unknown man who drove off at a high rate of speed in the car he had left at a Canton Road auto store. The suspect eventually stopped the car and escaped on foot. The car was found to have a broken window and a peeled steering column.

Eight people were charged with theft after allegedly stealing items from a South Arlington Road store Jan. 24 through Feb. 1, including: a Stone Street woman for taking $110 in items; an Orrville man for taking $74 in items; a North Prospect Road man for taking $52 worth of clothing and a cell phone; an Avon Street male and Vanderhoof Road male, who was also charged with possession of marijuana, for each stealing an $89 digital camera; a Lee Drive man for taking $33 worth of items; a Delos Street woman for taking $152 in items; and a Portage Point man for taking a $40 cell phone. also, security personnel at the store reported two unknown males escaped with a video game each and another suspect took a 32-inch flat-panel TV valued at $398 and left through a lawn and garden door to his car, which was parked next door at a hotel.

On Jan. 24, a suspect driving a teal Ford Ranger pickup truck stole a $1,300 metal brake from an Ewart Road home.

A 2006 white Yamaha all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a Massillon Road yard Jan. 26. The owner reported he had listed the vehicle on Craig’s List and had a potential buyer for it.

An Armil Drive woman reported Jan. 26 her Berwin Street boyfriend grabbed her by the throat during an argument and struck her in the mouth and then stole $400 from her purse. Police charged the man with theft and domestic violence.

Police charged an Alta Vista Avenue man with making false alarms Jan. 27 after two witnesses stepped forward to report the man and his friend, who were allegedly drunk, had kicked in his front door. Earlier, the man had reported an unknown suspect had kicked in his door and stolen $700 from his counter. The man allegedly told police he made up the story because he did not have his rent money for the second month in a row.

A Prospect Street male was charged with inducing panic Jan. 27 after he pulled a gun, which turned out to be an Airsoft pellet gun, and pointed it at a victim at Canton and East Waterloo Road.

A Bey Road woman reported Jan. 28 a Provens Drive woman came to her home and took two purebred Ragdoll cats to show to potential buyers, but never returned with them, and now the woman and a Caston Road woman are listing Ragdoll cats for sale.

Police were called to a South Arlington Road hotel Jan. 28 when a Mohawk Trail woman was found passed out with four baggies with residue next to her. The woman was transported to the hospital.

On Jan. 29, a Bridger Road home and a Nolt Drive home were shot with paintballs.

The next day, eggs were smashed onto a Brunk Road car and red paint was smeared on the back window.

On Feb. 1, a hot water tank, copper pipes and spouting were stolen from a Columbine Avenue home.

DVDs, jewelry and a money clip, with a total value of $500, were stolen from an Orchard Lane home Feb. 1.
